Who we are
Keeper is operated by Dusk Labs, Inc. (“Keeper”, “we”, “us”). Keeper is a personal financial assistant you reach by text message. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Information we collect
- Your mobile number. Required — it is how Keeper identifies you and how the service is delivered.
- What you tell Keeper. The content of your messages, including anything you share about your goals, plans, and financial situation.
- Financial account data, if you choose to connect accounts. This includes balances, transactions, holdings, and account and institution names. See Connecting financial accounts below.
- Service data. Delivery receipts, timestamps, error logs, and similar records needed to operate and debug the service.
Keeper does not ask for, and you should not send, government identifiers, account credentials, or card numbers over text message.
How we use information
- To answer your questions and provide the service.
- To notice things that may need your attention and tell you about them.
- To remember your goals, decisions, and preferences so you do not have to repeat them.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve Keeper.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial data or message content to serve you advertising.
Text messaging and your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers listed below, and only to the extent needed to deliver the messages you have asked for.
Message frequency varies with how you use Keeper. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
Sign-in verification codes are sent by a different provider and a different number than the one you converse with. Opting out of Keeper messages does not disable sign-in codes, which are required to access your account.
Connecting financial accounts
Connecting accounts is optional. Keeper is useful without it, and you can disconnect at any time.
Connections are made through Plaid Inc., which handles the credentials for your financial institution. Keeper never sees, receives, or stores those credentials. Plaid’s handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.
Access is read-only. Keeper can see balances, transactions, and holdings. Keeper cannot move money, make payments, place trades, or change anything at your financial institution — not on your instruction, and not on its own.
Automated processing
Keeper uses large language models to understand your messages and to write its replies. Message content and the financial context needed to answer are sent to model providers for that purpose.
Financial figures Keeper states are calculated by our own systems, not produced by a language model. We instruct our model providers not to retain or train on Keeper’s data.
Who we share information with
We share information with service providers who help operate Keeper:
- Plaid — connections to financial institutions
- Telnyx — delivering and receiving text messages
- Twilio — sign-in verification codes
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Google Cloud — application hosting
- Model providers — language understanding and generation
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. If Keeper is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Message history and remembered context are retained because they are what make Keeper useful over time — an assistant that forgets your goals each week is not an assistant.
When you delete your account we delete your personal information and financial data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or regulatory reasons. Disconnecting a financial account stops further collection from it.
Security
Access tokens for your financial institutions are encrypted at rest. Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is limited to personnel who need it.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Your choices
- Stop messages at any time by replying STOP.
- Disconnect any financial account at any time from the portal.
- Request a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Close your account entirely.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information. Contact us and we will honour them.
Children
Keeper is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is material we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top reflects the current version.
